Suggest Diet To Keep Diabetes Under Control

Question: Hi, This is for my sister who just diagonosed diabetics in starting stage. If we eat Rice after boiling will it reduce impact to a diabetic person or rice should be avoided ? Also is brown bread a better option then normal bread for a person having diabetics?

Detailed Answer: dear sir, hi! answering precisely to the two questions. 1. boiling rice and discarding extra water will remove starch so definitely a better option. brown rice is a still better option. 2. not the brown bread but wheat bread or multigrain bread is the right choice. it increases the fibre content and so decreases the glycemic index. regards

Hi Doctor, Thanks for the clarifications , also i want to know if gud (Jaggey) is better option for tea instead of Sugar ? also can mango be eaten if one have diabetic?

Brief Answer: Gud or sugar Or honey are equally harmful. Detailed Answer: dear sir, anything that sweetens your food is equally harmful. you can add sugar free supplements like Splenda, stevia. mango can be eaten in moderation once a while but no mango shake no aamras. regards!
