Brief Answer:
Detail below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
But many plus-size women do lose weight during pregnancy without dieting. In the first trimester, it's common to lose weight as the result of morning sickness: The nausea can diminish your appetite, and the vomiting can cause you to miss out on calories. But even so, your baby will get all the necessary calories.
You'll gain less fat weight during your pregnancy if you continue to exercise (assuming you exercised before becoming pregnant). But don't expect or try to lose weight by exercising while you're pregnant. For most women, the goal is to maintain their fitness level throughout pregnancy.
. You can enjoy low-impact exercise such as walking, swimming, and low-impact aerobics. Never start an exercise regime without first talking to your healthcare provider.
As a diet you can take protein and carbohydrate rich diet and avoid fatty food

Thank you for your response. This sure helps me. Before becoming pregnant I was playing badminton thrice a week for 1.5 hrs., doing yoga twice a week for 1 hr. each and swimming once a week for 1 hr. However, it was targeted towards increasing fitness levels and not weight loss. In that case, shall I continue with swimming?

will the chlorinated water, which is sometimes swallowed impact the fetus?

Thank you,
xxxxxx

Brief Answer:
Continue swimming.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
You can continue with swimming and walking so as to maintain your basic activity level. The chlorinated water will not harm the baby even if swallowed in small amounts.
Hope my answer is helpful.
Do accept my answer in case there are no further queries.
