Suggest Diet Plan For A Person Working Night Shift

Question: Hello Doctor

I'm living In XXXXXXX and working for Night shift totally, what are the precautions I should take and can you please suggest how good or bad to health it is? I'm taking 8-9 hours of sleep in a day and taking 3 times food. And while taking food can you please suggest what is the best time to have food because while working in nights I fee very hungry.

I can understand your concern.. Actually our body molds itself in such a way that we are awake in morning and sleepy at night.
This is body's circadian rhythm.
Body functions well if this rhythm is not disturbed.
So if you are doing night shift then initially you might face many problems.
But once your body is adapting this variation, you won't get much symptoms.
In night shift workers, day time sound sleep is very important. There are many distractions in the day time.
So better to take sound sleep in day time.
Better to take heavy breakfast in the morning, light lunch in afternoon and medium dinner at midnight.
You can eat some light snacks in your nighty shift.
Overall night shift is not good for long term health.
