Question: is there a generic drug for viagra? i have seen it advertized and bought it.it worked ok but phycian said to be carefull,dont know whats in that stuff. brand name is very expensive .if cant afford brand name whats next best approch ?

Currently there is no generic equivalent of Viagra available for distribution.there are many websites which advertise formulations of this drug but these are not standardized and there is a risk that you could receive counterfeit medication if you obtain medication from these organizations. in light of this I generally do not recommend patient obtain this prescription from overseas pharmacies.
one way that patients will use to reduce cost of this medication is to obtain a higher dosage which can then be cut in half for use as prescribed. this way you can obtain two doses from a single tablet. Of course this is something you would need to discuss with your primary care physician.
Regarding alternatives as far as cost is concerned Levitra is generally a bit more affordable and may be a possible alternative for you to consider. You might ask your doctorabout a trial of this for yourself.
