Suggest Alternative Treatments For Hepatoblastoma Other Than Chemo

Question: My ten month old daughter was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma in August. She did two cycles of chemo including cisplatin, doxorubicin, vincristine and fluroracil. Her tumor was completely removed with clear margins on October 28th. Her AFP has been steadily falling but they still want to complete four more cycles of chemo after her resection.

I want to stop her chemo at the end of her fifth cycle. What's your opinion?

Brief Answer:
complete all cycles of chemotherapy

Detailed Answer:
Hepatoblastoma is one disease which is completely curable in majority. Usually 6cycles of chemotherapy are given. If 2 are given before surgery, 4 are given after surgery. Only condition where chemo is stopped is life threatening toxicity due to chemo which is very rare. In all such conditions where complete cure is possible it is better not to compromise on therapy. Since we know 6cycles need to be given fr best chances of cure, why take chance and stop therapy before and take risk.
