Question: I've been on hydrocodone for about 11 years. Was on methadone with, passed out once ,I have shallow breathing when asleep. Detoxes completely. Too much chronic pain . Tried fentanyl patch with lortab, passed out on that 3 times. Lortab 10/3.25. 5 per day not working well now.Tried percoceta few years ago instead of lortab, worked about the same. Is there anything slightly stronger to take for chronic pain/ fibro and jaw pain. I'm weak, in too much pain. Can't sit up to do my artwork, quality of life going down hill. Jean

Brief Answer:

This drug cannot be served online.

Detailed Answer:

Hi and thanks you for this query.

I have reviewed your information fully. I think you deserve pain medications given the various disease conditions you have reported.

It is sad that some doctors choose to decide how much you can get that focusing on what is the safest dose to keep you pain free and productive.

Unfortunately, it is a drug that cannot be dispensed online.

My advise is that you keep a sheet of how many you use each time and show the doctor for review. I am sure he would understand that this is for your health and change his attitude.

Your husband might come along to attest to the help these medications provide and the judicious use by you.

In the meantime, trying over the counter pain medications is the only way to go.

However, do not hesitate to call him up or go to the ER if the pain becomes very much unbearable.

I wish you well.

Hope my answer is helpful. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.

Take care,

What over the counter meds. Tylenol doesn't help my pain, nor does ibuprofen. I'm allergic to aspirin(Severe asthma reaction and anaphylactic shock) Alieve too much like aspirin.
I don't expect a prescription for opioids on line if that's what you mean.
I will take your advice about writing down my med intake and how it does or doesn't control my pain. My husband needs to back me up at dr so she believes the lack of relief I'm getting from lortab . He always goes with me to dr, last visit I had run out, was having withdrawal and he had to take me in wheelchair I was so much pain and weak. I just don't think she believes how weak and how much pain I'm in. She only kept accusing me of drug seeking behavior that visit and my husband I know needs to tell her I need help if she doesn't believe me. My previous dr always believed my pain was bad and told me.i don't want to lose only dr I have now that will rx opioids. Most drs here in Iowa won't even prescribe them, laws very tight here. Can you describe OxyContin vs hydrocodone for me, I mean side effects. I'm maxed out on 10 mg lortab 5-6 times per day and it's not helping enough. Any suggestions would help. Thank you. If I make a new appointment with her before my scheduled one in about 3 weeks I think she will still accuse me of "drug seeking". Jean

Brief Answer:

I will not support you living in pain. Be clear to your doctor about this.

Detailed Answer:

Hi and thanks for this further intake.

If all these OTC pain medications cannot help, then I am sorry there are non that can be dispensed online.

I would advise you to confront your doctor in all sincerity. All drugs are meant to be used for the good of patients and not shielded from them.

I do understand keeping them away from those who abuse it is necessary but this must be done in a way such that we do not compromise those who genuinely need it.

OxyContin and Hydrocodone are both good pain medication.

We all have different response to them and it is often the job of your doctor to try them individually until he finds what works best for you.

I will not be concerned with any if it gets to control your pain.

I wish you well.

I wish I could do more. Unfortunately, regulations are making the practice a lot more difficult than it used to be.

Hope I have answered your query.
