Suggest A Diet Plan While Suffering From Stage-4 Kidney Disease
Question: I have been diagnosed with stage four kidney disease, I am 71 and a long time 25+ years a diabetic, I am unable to smell or taste which leaves cooking very problematic. I need help with diet, my nephrologist, said watch your sodium but no limits or values. I seem to be consuming lots of protein. My blood sugars are good and the doctors have cut way back on the meds I was taking. Even recommend a good dietary book.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I understand your concern. I recommend that for stage four kidney disease you limit protein intake as much as possible in order to reduce protein accumulation in the blood, since the kidneys are not able to process them. Also limit legumes, whole grains, nuts.
Being a diabetic, you understand the great importance of the right diet, so I recommend The Type 2 Diabetes Diet from XXXXXXX Ezrin and XXXXXXX Kowalski.
I hope this helps.
If you have further questions I'd be glad to answer them
Wishing you good health and all the best.
