Brief Answer:
A healthy diet and lifestyle

Detailed Answer:
Greetings. Thank you for your question and welcome to HCM. I read your query.

A certain measures should be undertaken after stents are placed into the coronary arteries. A thing to be remembered is that stent in the coronary arteries is a remedy for atherosclerotic disease. Therefore, it is a cured coronary artery disease. I am saying this because many stent patients assume a sedentary lifestyle after stents are implanted. So, I would recommend and encourage you to perform physical activity for 60 minutes a day, such as walking, brisk walking, light jogging, swimming, biking, whatever suits you better.

My opinion is that your curing doctor already stated that you should be on clopidogral daily for at least 12 months, and that tobacco, if you smoke, should be discontinues.

As for the food, since we are aware now that coronary artery disease was active, in your case, I would recommend you to follow this regimen:
- fruit and green or dark green leafy vegetables, up to 300 grams a day;
- no tobacco
- no raw meat at all, red meat up to maximum once a week, more fish and chicken or other poultry
- no fast food
- only the white of an egg, the yellow part only occasionally
- alcohol should be limited to up to a maximum of 30 grams of ethanol a day, i.e. a glass of wine or a shot of heavy drinks (gin, vodka, burboun).

This is basically the diet to keep cholesterol levels to a satisfying level and, as I assume your doctor already perscribed, a statin should be present in your therapy for the rest of your life.

I hope my asnwer is helpful. I am happy to help, if you have further questions. Wish you a good health and a long life.

Kind regards,
Dr. Meriton
