Brief Answer: 15mg per kg body weight Detailed Answer: Hi XXXXXXX Thanks for writing to health care magic. I can understand your concern. Some times the temperature of active children can be around 99 F. If the child is other wise normal and feeding normally nothing much needs to be done. Paracetamol need not be given just because the temperature is 99 F. If the temperature rises further then we prescribe Paracetamol. Paracetamol only causes symptomatic relief from fever and nothing else. So the basic cause of fever if it occurs should be identified and treated. Paracetamol (Crocin) need not be given as a precautionary measure. When we give Paracetamol to our patients we give it at a dose of 15mg per kg body weight. The dose can be repeated every 4 hourly. Note more than 4 doses are given in a day. Continue to ask further queries as required. Hope this helps. Take care. Dr Y V Siva Sankara Murty M.D.(Pediatrics) Associate Professor of Pediatrics
