Stomach Cramps, FMU Results Variable, Taken Medicine For UTI. Reason For False Test Results?

Question: I have read that the bacteria from a UTI can cause the HCG in your urine to be low and there for causing a negative urine pregnancy test. Is this true? I was late as of Aug 30th. I took one test FMU the 30th, positive, next day FMU, positive. Assumed I was preg, ready to go to doc, started having stomach cramps following Monday, took another test in PM, faintly pos, another before bed, neg, another in the AM, neg. I assumed I had a chemical pregnancy and waited to bleed, but it didn't happen and the stomach pain became more severe and centralized to my lower left ab. Finally went to ER, they tested urine for pregnancy, neg, stated I had a bladder infect, gave me meds, told me my period was late because of the infection and sent me home. I still have not had a period, don't feel its coming, still have some preg symptoms, not as strong, but there. I am now 2wks and 2days late and I just don't get it. I don't feel like they answered my questions at the ER, if I had a chemical pregnancy, wouldn't I be bleeding by now? If I'm not or wasn't pregnant at all, why the two VERY positive tests and the faint positive? Can it be hormones? Sorry if this is a lot, I just really don't know what to do. I don't have ins at this time and Idk if I should continue to treat myself like I could be, or do whatever I want (drink, smoke, move furniture, etc.) Ik my body very well and Ik when things change (my wt, level of activity, etc) that cause fluctuations in my cycle, and I've had none of those things. I was 4 1/2 months pregnant with my last child before I found out (just bc I was busy with my 9month old and didn't realize anything was missing), I don't want it to be that way again. Any ideas?

Hello
Thanks for writing to us.

First diagnosis to be ruled out when a period is late is pregnancy.

If your first test was positive then there was a possibility that you were pregnant.

Two positive tests are less likely to be false positive.

Delay in your periods is further making it suspicious. Now that your pregnancy tests are negative then most likely there has been an early missed abortion.

To confirm the diagnosis, ultrasound scan is necessary.

If there are retained products of conception in the uterus, there will be intermittent pain in the lower abdomen with intermittent spotting.

Please visit your gynecologist to undergo physical check up and also to undergo relevant investigations required in your case so that proper treatment can be advised.

I hope my answer and recommendations are adequate and helpful. Waiting for your further follow up queries if any.
Regards.
