Question: Starting out as an allergic reaction last Thursday night, changed into head congestion, cold like symptons, scratchy throat no fever. Saturday the congestion moved into my chest and I had headaches. Sunday the cough was spasmatic and I developed a low grade fever, reaching 100.9. This morning no fever but lethargic, headache, minimal mucus flow. Chest is still congested, but no coughing.

Brief Answer:
Probably allergic sinusitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I think you are suffering an allergic sinusitis or rhinitis.
It is recommended to continue antihistamines and decongestants. I don't think you may use mucinex.
It is a good idea doing a corticosteroid injection such prednisone or dexamethasone to lower the exaggerated immunological response.
It may last up to 2 weeks.

If it still continues you can do allergic proves.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
