Should I Consult A Doctor For What Looks Like Spontaneous Conjunctival Hemorrhage?

Question: Upon waking up Wednesday morning on the left side of my left eyeball and slightly under the eyeball was red with a concentration of deeper red just below and slightly to the left of the eyeball. as of today the left side of the eyeball appears to have less red and the concentration of red below & slightly left seems to be lighter.
My eye was fine when I went to sleep Tuesday night. Their is no discharge, no crusting in the morning when I wake, I do not have any problems seeing, and no pain or itching.
Is this something that will take care of itself, or should I see a doctor? Best guess of what it is and cause.. Can something like this have anything to do with allergies?

Brief Answer:
spontaneous conjunctival hemorrhage

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

It may seem like a spontaneous conjunctival hemorrhage. This is a spontaneous bleed that occurs in the conjunctiva of the eye for no obvious reason.

The conjunctiva is the lining over the sclera.

It occurs frequently and usually resolves on its own.

If your eye feels irritated then the temporary use of artificial tears may be helpful.

Allergies would be associated with itching usually.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions.
Regards
