Brief Answer:
The ball like swelling could be the upper pole of tonsil

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I appreciate you asking this question.

I do realize, after reading your question, that the swelling could be the upper pole of the tonsil. When the pharyngeal tonsil crypt widens and assumes a ball shape, this becomes more apparent. Nothing about it warrants concern.

It would be very appreciated if you could provide us with a photo of the same to confirm that it is the tonsil's upper pole.

I will be waiting for the response

Best regards

It is on the arch right behind the tonsil , it does not appear to be connected to the tonsil .

Brief Answer:
It’s a mucocele over the posterior tonsillar pillar

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for the images and welcome back.

After closely examining the pictures, I believe there is a mucocele covering the posterior tonsillar pillar. A mucus-filled sac is called a mucocele. This is the result of increased saliva production that cannot be expelled due to blockage of the minor salivary gland opening. Consequently leading to the gland's enlargement.

Do not be concerned. It poses no threats at all. Just keep an eye out for any growth in size.

Please get back to us if you have any more questions.

With best regards

Is it a papilloma ? Is it something I should be nervous about ?

Brief Answer:
Unlike mucocele, a wart's surface is usually rough

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

I appreciate your response.

I would continue to draw the same conclusion as before. A wart typically has a rough surface, unlike a mucocele. The surface of the mucocele would always be smooth and glossy as a result of the gland ballooning. I want to reassure you that there is no need for concern.

I hope this eases your concerns. I wish you good health.
