Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

Although it is difficult to give a psychological advice on basis of single phrase as we generally consider the whole problem in totality.

To help someone with this kind of problem first thing on our part is active listening. Active listening means we listen what the person says and validate his/her feelings whenever it is necessary. In addition we look for opportunities to ask relevant questions such as clarifying questions.

In addition we try to show curiosity (intellectually) and try to interpret his/her body language and relate to one's feelings with appropriate emotions.

On conclusion of active listening most of the individuals get required advice during this process itself.

However those who need real advice we psychologists term this phenomenon as transient one and promote optimism by stating such as everything have expiry date and same holds true for someone who is stuck behind the glass plate.

In addition people are also supported by saying that there is positive aspect despite the suffering as you can see the problem and utilise your resources to prepare better yourself in compare to someone who is stuck behind the impermeable wall.

I must acknowledge that the real life situation is quite different than hypothetical situation and response comes spontaneously.

I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
