STOMACH VIRAL INFECTION

Detailed Answer:
Hi....
Welcome to "Ask a Doctor"service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX

I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.

You are having a stomach viral infection which is also called as stomach flu.

Symptoms may include watery diarrhea, stomach cramps, stomach pain, nausea, vomitings, fever, muscle pains, fatigue, lethargy and excess sweating.

Stomach flu is caused by many viruses but Rota virus is the commonest.
It spreads through contact with an infected person or by consuming contaminated food or water or through fomites.

It is usually self limiting and has no residual complications.

It has an incubation period o 1 to 3 days and resolves completely with in 1 to 2 weeks.

You should keep yourself well hydrated, avoid caffeine, carbonated drinks and alcohol, take rest, have multiple small meals instead of 3 major meals and avoid gassy and high amount of fiber.

You can take Advil or Tylenol for pain and fever.
Take PPI like Pantoprazole for hyperacidity and bloating.
You would recover very soon.

If the symptoms continue to persist, please see your clinician.

Hope that I have answered your query.
If you have any doubts, please let me know.

Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.
