Brief Answer:
Drug reaction. stop Levofloxacin, needs replacement molecule for pneumonia.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query with attached photo image showing skin eruptions and here is my advise.

* As per my clinical experience, the lesions of skin in terms of redness with
various level raised areas suggest immune response of the body due to
drug sensitivity for fluoroquinolone group ( Levofloxacin ).

* Though Levofloxacin is best prescribed molecule for pneumonia recovery,
many patients do have sensitivity to particular group of drug and in which
case various clinical features may be seen as skin lesions in your case.

My recommendations at present

- Stop consuming further doses of Levofloxacin.
- Local application of aloe vera gel for smooth recovery.
- Consult your family physician for replacement of Levofloxacin in terms of
pneumonia recovery.

* Usually these lesions recover pretty well after the cessation of drug within
next 48 hours , rarely they require treatment.

Wish you best recovery.
Do feel free to discuss further as per your need.

It would be appreciable to get feedback from your side about the recovery of the spots as per your time convenience and follow up with your physician.

Thank you.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
follow up .

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Usually skin eruptions following new drug ( even without itching ) is confirmed diagnosis of drug reaction ; time varies in various molecules and various persons.

If your consultant thinks so, he or she may order a drug sensitivity test for you if needed.

Currently you require another group of drug, which will not have possible cross connections with current fluoroquinolone group of drug molecules.

Thank you.
