They look like ringworm but are not. the one on left hand moved from top of hand near little finger to side if little finger and is now sore to touch. What is it? right hand welt is above first finger near knuckle and no soreness yet. Just a raised half circle welt. What could cause this?

Brief Answer:
Probably granuloma annulare, follow the advice below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms can be related to granuloma annulare.
It is a skin condition characterized by raised welts that form ring patterns. It is usually formed into hands.

The cause is not well known. Stress can be a trigger. Other triggers can be insect bites, sun exposure or minor trauma.

Some advice that I can give to you about the treatment are:
-Use steroid cream for local application
-take antihistamines daily
-If you don't get better you should take prescribed oral corticosteroids
-use cool compresses for relief

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
