Question: Myself 38 yr old male. For the last two three days I am suffering from head rotation. First it noticed on Saturday morning during gym workout. After doing almost half an hour of gym workout when I laid down for a chest exercise my head starts rotating almost for two three minutes. Than i skip that exercise. I felt some weakness and numbness in legs throughout the day but no head rotation was there till night. In the night i was in bed with my kid for almost 45 minutes, after he fell into sleep when I was tried to get up from bed similar head rotation experienced...and the same repeated in Sunday morning when I woke up from bed in the morning and Sunday night and today morning also.. no other significant problems are there. No headache no vomiting etc...little bit nausea is there. I had undergone brain CT almost 4 years ago after a minor head injury. Nothing abnormal was noticed on that CT. What to do and what to expect...

Hi there

Thanks for the query

Did you feel the room rotate around you? Or did you just feel giddy?

If you felt the room around you rotate then it's possibly Vertigo especially if you heard a ringing sound in your ears at that time.

Since exertion can provide Vertigo it could be caused by your exercise. This could also be a feature of brain problem like XXXXXXX stroke and needs attention. He may do some tests on brain and spine.

Since there could be many possible causes, it's best to get yourself looked at by Neurologist and ENT surgeon.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Thank u so much for your reply.t Today I have consulted a MD Physician and he said that most probably it is vertigo (BPPV). He said that it may go without treatment..and he prescribed some medicines also for a 10 days course. Sir I am asking one question for an academic interest...that I already mentioned that I have undergone Brain CT and nothing abnormal noticed...sir my question is that if on that CT everything was fine..then is there any chance of developing any significant abnormalities by three years...for example to develop a tumor how much time it will take...my wife also undergone brain CT around three years ago...and she still complains of headaches and I said that We had conducted brain CT just three years ago...so nothing to worry like that.....can we say like that....

For brain tumour it takes few weeks to show in CT and you will have lot of changes in behaviour, vomiting etc. Your wife could be suffering from visual refractive error or Migraine which need to be ruled out.
