Question: My wife had two small nodules removed with radiation from her liver on the 19th of this month. One nodule from each end of liver ... still has three smaller nodules on inner end of liver that were left for the time being ... she has cirrhosis and is anemic ( PK deficiency ...normally running 6.5 to 7.0 hemoglobin ) ... 72 years old ... also has iron overload from hemocromotis, and many blood transfusion at a younger age ... has been on chelation therapy for last two years. ( desferoxim ) Directly after the double liver ablation she noticed her abdominal swelling up. Right now looks like she's 7/8 months present. Contacted Dr who preformed procedure and he thought it sounded like she has ascitis. He is 250 miles away and suggested that she see her family Dr here locally. Appt with family Dr tomorrow. Your feelings????

Brief Answer:
X-ray of abdomen and Ultrasonography asap

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and detailed history.
Noted the history well.
What is the biopsy/histopath report of the nodules removed?

Ultrasonography and X-ray of abdomen (in standing and laying down position) will confirm whether this swelling is due to ascites or gases or intestinal obstruction or so.
Please get this done asap to come to a definite finding the cause to enable further evaluation and management.

As mentioned the causes of swelling can be ascites, gases or intestinal obstruction.
What are the other symptoms?

With Regards.
