Question: My tongue is off and on appearing like it's burned or blistered. Then returns to normal. Been like this for 2 months. I can eat anything and it doesn't hurt. Just looks bad at times. I try to rinse with peroxide and or mouthwash

Hi WANTCLEANWINDOWS,
Thanks for the query.I understand your concern.
The tongue lesion..recurring over last 2months..without much discomfort...can be from,
-Folic acid deffeciency.
-Allergy to something which when exposed to , can cause it(some eatables,medicines,some mouth cleansers)
-It can be viral ...needs to be investigated.
-Staphylococcal infection in throat
-Some problem in digestion can cause Lactobacillus depletion & lead to it.
-Apthus ulcer can be following some psychological stress.
*To pin point the cause you need to get. through physical examination followed by needful investigations..This would help in advise of specific treatment.
Please consult a physician ..
*Till then for self care...you can start taking Folic acid 5mg /day(over the counter.
Take yogurt in food (lactobacillus)
Avoid constipation, drink lot of water&have fiber rich diet.
Apply Boriglycerine / XXXXXXX ointment over the counter.
-Follow doctor's advice strictly.
