Brief Answer:
Continue Ezegut, give anticolic drops

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for asking on this platform

I have gone through the query and do understand your concern.
Colic is common in this age. Ezegut contains lactobacillus reuteri and helps in maintaining healthy gut flora; thus decreases abdominal discomfort.
I would like to know which similac formula you are giving to the baby. Milk based formula can lead to excessive colic due to milk protein allergy. Similac Isomil is a soya based formula with similar energy and is recommended in such cases. I would recommend you this, if not started earlier.
Also give colicaid or colimax drops which contains dicyclomine, Simethicon and other ingredients which helps in relieving abdominal discomfort.
Dose is 10 drops two to three times a day.
Proper burping is always helpful.
As baby is on mother feed also, mother should avoid all those items including dairy products which can cause flatulence.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Wishing for your baby's good health.
Regards

We are giving Similac Total Comfort 1 for the last 3 days. Before Similac we were giving Morinaga. Should I stop Similac Total Comfort 1 and start Similac Isomil? Secondly should I stop Ezuget and start colimax? As I said he is also on mother feed so mother should stop Yogurt and cow milk?

Brief Answer:
Better give trial with isomil, give both Ezegut and colimax

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for follow up

Similac total comfort is cow milk based formula but here proteins are hydrolyzed for better digestion. Isomil is soy based formula and does not contain cow milk protein. Few babies with sensitive tummies may not tolerate cow milk protein at all even in hydrolysed form. So better give a trial of Isomil.
Ezegut is a probiotic and it is recommended for babies with sensitive tummies. While colimax or Colicaid is anticolic medication. So give both Ezegut and colimax/Colicaid as suggested earlier.

As baby is on breast feed also. Removing cow milk protein from top feed only does not work and mother also has to stop all dairy product and items which form excessive gases like cabbage, brocoli, cauliflower, beans etc.
So yes, mother should stop cow milk.
Colic usually improves as baby grows and usually not seen after 5 to 6 months of age.
I hope this helps.
If symptoms persists or you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks and regards

Hi,
Thanks alot for such a detailed reply. I have few last questions which are as follows:

1. May we give XXXXXXX milk mix with some quantity of water to my child? I have heard its not heavy like cow milk.
2. Can mother use XXXXXXX milk as well?
3. Do we need to use Ezegut and colimax/Colicaid at any time before or after feed?
4. For how long should I give Ezegut and Colimax to my child? For how long we can give Similac Isomil to child if this milk suits him?

Brief Answer: XXXXXXX milk can not be given

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for feedback
XXXXXXX milk or anything apart from mothers milk and formula milk should not be given to baby at least till 6 months of age.
Buffalo's milk is more rich in energy, fat, carbohydrate and protein as compare to both mothers milk and cow milk.
Give anticolic medicine regularly for 6-7 days and thereafter only when needed. Ezegut should be continued till 6-8 weeks. Ezegut is a probiotic(maintains healthy gut microbiota) and there is no side effect.
You may give anticolic medicine and Ezegut anytime as per your convenience irrespective of feeding time. But better to give sometimes after feed to avoid any regurgitation or vomiting.
I won't suggest to given Buffalo's milk even to the mother at least for next 14 days.
This isomil is just like other formula milk and if he tolerates well continue this for next 8 weeks.

I shall be glad to help further if you need any.

Any drop containing dicyclomine and or Simethicon will do

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Any drop containing Simethicon an anti flatulent with or without dicyclomine which is an antispasmodic will work. You can ask chemist telling this generic name. I was able to find one brand infacol colic relief drops online. You may check with your pharmacist.
