Question: My son got his 12 month vaccinations today (previnar 13, MMR, Varicella and Hep A). Two on each thigh. The one thigh the needle pokes are really close together. Like less than a centimeter. I'm really worried. Will he be OK?

Brief Answer:
No need to worry

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for using 'Ask A Doctor' service.

I have gone through the immunization details that you have provided.

Let me reassure you that unless the area forms a hard painful lump there is no reason for concern. It will be fine soon, even if it was close. No need to worry.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards

Brief Answer:
Wait and watch for a few days first

Detailed Answer:
Just wait and watch. If the lump does not reduce in a couple of days, it would be a good idea to visit a pediatrician and to get the area evaluated.
