Question: My mum had rectal cancer 5 years ago. She is still having mri scans and ct scans which are showing complete response to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Her CEA level has gone from 4 2 years ago, to 5 last year and now it is 6. Do I need to worry?

CEA can increase due to inflammation,smoking and other benign conditions.
