Question: My mother is aged 59 years of age. She had an ecg in the morning which showed 611 T abnormality(Flat T), 331 Negative PV1 with left atrial enlargement. 141 long Qtc. 802 sinus. What does this mean. She has a history of high blood pressure.

Hello

After going through the medical details provided by you I can understand your concern for your mothers health and I would like to tell you that the ECG findings which you have mentioned and along with history of hypertension it’s suggesting that one of the chambers of the heart that is left atrium has gone dilated which means increase in the chamber size than normal.

It’s advisable that you should get an Echocardiography done for her to confirm these ecg changes so that proper medications can be started if there is any abnormality.
