If the pain is severe, there may be a possible ligamental injury. This has to be evaluated well by an MRI scan. You have to consult your orthopedician for the same.

Meanwhile, you must immobilize the knee joint by wearing a knee cap and take Tab Ibuprofen 400mg for pain.
