Brief Answer:
Needs to investigate to rule out Enlarged Prostate

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.

Based on the facts that you have posted increased frequency for urination that your father has is most likely to be due to Enlarged Prostate which is common at this age and needs to investigate .

I shall be happy if you can post me more details to help me in making precise comments
1) Does his Diabetes well controlled ?
2) Does he have other urinary symptoms like nocturnal frequency,Urgency, poor steraam etc ?

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis with Post Void Residual urine (PVR)
3) Serum PSA.
4) Blood sugar levels to find out whether Diabetes is under control or not ?
5) Uroflowmetry

.Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
