My Doctor Gave Me A Prescription To Get A Nerve

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Mar 2020
Question: My doctor gave me a prescription to get a nerve conduction study because I have symptoms of cubital tunnel syndrome. I have a few questions. I have been under intense stress and my body feels off because of a personal issue (issues in my romantic life). I'm not sleeping well and my ear has been feeling clogged at times. (I may have mild meneire's - a doctor diagnosed that a few years ago.) Would any of this affect the results of the nerve conduction study? Should I set up the appointment now or give it a few weeks to see if I'm feeling more like myself and sleeping better? Also, how painful is the study? I've heard mixed things.

Hi there

Thanks for the query

Ideally Menieres or sleep disturbances would not influence a nerve conduction study test, however if you feel you can't do this test then you can postpone it till you feel better.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
