Brief Answer:
FIBROMYALGIA IS A POSSIBILITY.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
This symptom is very typical.
It corresponds to the diagnosis of - Fibromyalgia.
In this condition, the patient is exquisitely sensitive to touch, and there are various trigger points on the body that lead to severe pain on touch.
You need to see a Neurologist and a Psychologist to confirm the diagnosis, as there is a distinct psychological component to it ( including a history of trauma, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety etc ).
Treatment is multi - pronged, consisting of one or many of the following modalities - counselling, medications, regular exercise, nerve stimulation, hot water tub therapy etc.
Please go through the following article ( there are many scientific ones, but I chose one that even a non medical person can go through and understand easily ) -

Thank you for your reply but there was no mention of pain involved, so I don't believe Fibromyalgia would be a consideration. I think it is more of a mental thing? or maybe an invasion of her personal space as she is a rather private person and is now pregnant. She also has low grade cervical cancer

Brief Answer:
AS BELOW

Detailed Answer:
Yes, even fibromyalgia itself has a distinct psychological component.
Regarding the cervical issue, please upload the Pap smear or biopsy reports so that I know where she stands.
It would be evaluated and managed after childbirth now in any case.
Fibromyalgia or otherwise, she needs to see a psychologist.
Take care.

Thank you for your prompt reply, yes I do agree that a psychologist is needed as she's not in a good place mentally. I don't have any reports as she kept this to herself at the time also. Thankfully she's now inviting me to be involved and attend medical appointments with her.

The relationship with her live in boyfriend is also putting a great deal of strain on her.

Brief Answer:
CAN UNDERSTAND

Detailed Answer:
I am sure she is having a tough time being pregnant at 17 and otherwise.
However, there is no problem too big for a mother to share, and for a doctor to solve !
Make sure she gets the requisite medical attention.
