Brief Answer:
Please get a pregnancy test.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for sharing your health concern with us.

In the current scenario, you should have a pregnancy test to clarify. If you have been always regular with your cycles, are not using any contraception and do not have normal blood flow now, pregnancy has to be suspected.

You can also get the estimation of the serum beta-hCG titers for a confirmation or exclusion of pregnancy.

If negative, wait for your natural period in a couple of days. Hormone imbalances which are transient usually are the cause.

If positive, get further help from a specialist in person because you do not want to retain the pregnancy and hence need an induced abortion.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

Brief Answer:
Please do not self-medicate.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

Please do not self-medicate. If the spotting persists in the absence of pregnancy, you will need progesterone course to set the cycles back on track.

If you are pregnant, medication to induce an abortion should be used under medical surveillance.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
Please see your health care provider.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your feedback.

Since you do not wish to go ahead, you have to see your health care provider for further management.

You have to get a preferably trans-vaginal sonogram to locate the gestation sac and the age of the pregnancy, blood counts and urinalysis and go for the procedure.

Induced medical abortion can be done if it is possible; else, surgical method will be suggested. The whole process is to be conducted by a qualified person.

Follow up should be done after two weeks and this includes the sonogram to exclude any retained products.

Hope I have answered your query. Please feel free to contact if you need anything else.

regards,
Shanti.V.
