My 3.5 Year Old Daughter's Teeths Are Mostly Infected By Dental Carries And Cavity, Painkiller Is Timely Doctor Said At 3 Years Teeth Extraction Will Be Very Difficult What Can Be Done?
Question: My 3.5 year old daughter's teeths are mostly infected by dental carries and cavity. She is suffering from pain since last 3 days. Yesterday after visiting doctor, she has been prescribed Ceff premix paediatrics syrup(2.5 ml twice) and FEENCETA painkiller(2.5 ml twice or as required). As soon as the painkiller effect is withdrawn her pain returns and she is under immense pain. What should we do? Will this antibiotic and painkiller work? Doctor said at 3 years teeth extraction will be very difficult.

Well yes it is true that extraction is a bit tricky for a 3.5 years old.
But if pain is so severe then only antibiotics and painkillers will not completely relieve her..
You should consult a Pediatric dentist or a Pedodontist and get her checked.
They have cetrain techniques with which they can calm the baby and ease in treatment like root canal treatment or extraction.

Thanks madam. But such specialist is not available in our city. Tell me one thing the antibiotic prescribed will work slowly or will not work at all along with the pain killers? I mean to say how much cure the antibiotic medicine will do. Can we increase the dosage of painkillers to 5 ml from 2.5 ml in every six hours?

Antibiotics will definitely help in reducing infection and at times the pain completely subsides.
But in a few days it can again flare up.
So treating the tooth or removing it is a permanent solution. If pediatric dentist is not available, then a regular dentist with pediatric experience can be visited.
As far as dose is concerned, you can give 2.5 ml every 6 hours as it is relieving pain as per your previous description.
So better to increase the number of times you are giving it.
But do not give earlier than 6 hours.
