Question: Male 76. Had covid since last Thursday. Had a rough Friday, Saturday and Sunday. No fever though the whole time. Doc put me on Dexamethasone 2 mg. 1 tab twice a day for breathing but I've had NO breathing problems. Started mild hiccups yesterday and into today. Looked up that medicine and it does cause hiccups. Didn't take it this morning as I'm waitingto hear from my doc on what to do. Hope he tells me to stop. Question. Should these hiccups finally wear off from this medicine?? Very aggrivating.

Brief Answer:
You should not stop the treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Hiccups can be a side effect of Dexamethasone.
Anyway, I suggest you to follow the treatment as prescribed by your doctor.
You should not stop the treatment because you might have breathing difficulties.

Hope my answer was helpful.
