I've Been Sick Cold And Cough And Such For The
Question: I've been sick cold and cough and such for the past week and a half and as of yesterday it got worst my cough got worse! Everytime I do a deep cough something in my throat interrupts my air and can't catch breath back after a couple of struggles and afterwards I feel like a burn in my throat. I went to the Er this morning they didn't do much all they said was that it was a minor cought and prescribed some medication. But very small amount of it

Based on the history you have shared, it seems like an acute attack of upper respiratory tract infection. It can be due to tonsillitis or pharyngitis as the feeling in the throat and coughing episode afterwards may be due to inflammatory changes inside. An otolaryngologist review would have been more helpful than ER visit.
If shortness of breath persist, a chest X-ray and routine examination with pulse oximetry to look for oxygen saturation may be needed. Meanwhile using OTC analgesics like acetaminophen alongwith anti histamines like cetrizine or loratidine may be helpful.
Gargles with XXXXXXX warm saline water will also help. Oral decongestants or losenges can be used as well. Avoid taking sour and cold foods. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Regards
