default
Posted on Wed, 23 Mar 2016
Question: My Son is of 6 and 1/2 years, his upper central incisor tooth seems to comeout. This is his 1st tooth which is going to fall, is it ok. As per normal behaviour lower central incisor tooth should comeout 1st, so bit concerned about it.

Brief Answer:
A slight variation in eruption and fall of teeth is normal..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain as your son is 6 and half years old and he is getting his deciduous (milk tooth) upper central incisor fall it is fine and normal..
The deciduous upper central incisor falls in this age only as well as the lower deciduous milk tooth also fall in this age of 6-7 years..

Now as far as eruption of permanent upper central incisor is concerned it erupts at the age of 7-8 years..
Lower central incisor erupts by the age of 6-7 years..
A slight early or delay in eruption and fall of teeth is not abnormal..

As he is 6 1/2 years of age you need not to worry as he is not delayed in his milestones and if upper tooth is erupting first also there is nothing to be worried about..
In case if he does not get lower incisors fall even after 6 to 8 months from now then you need to consult a Pedodontist and get evaluated..
He can take an IOPAR (X-RAY) to check whether there is presence of permanent tooth bud or not as well as if deciduous incisors will fall on its own or needs extraction due to over retention..

As of now everything seems fine and you need not to worry..

Any further questions are welcome..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
