Question: My wife had a tooth pulled today and was prescribed Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen at 325 MG, but there was a 5-before the 325 MG on the bottle. Is that significant? Why is it there if it isn't? it just increases anxiety and confusion. Thanks for your help.

Brief Answer:
Ratio of drug components

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

It seems your wife has been prescribed Norco 5-325 (brand name) which is a combination of an opioid pain killer (hydrocodone) and Acetaminophen (the generic name for Tylenol) and the number 5-325 is the ratio of the components. So I wouldn't worry about this.

What is important though is that she may take one tablet every 4 to 6 hours but should be careful not to exceed 6 tablets in 24 hours.

I hope this answers your question. If you have further questions I would be happy to answer them. Take care.

Regards
