Question: What happens to me if I stop taking tamoxifen. I had 16 radiation treatments for stage 1 invasive dcis with clear lymph node. The meds blow my stomach up and put weight on my belly.

Brief Answer: better you continue Detailed Answer: I do not know the full details. However, the disease must be ER/PR positive and hence tamoxifen has been started. It has beneficial effects on the disease. Some side effects would be there. It is recommended to continue. Please check with your doctor on managing these side effects. The benefits of taking tamoxifen are lost if you stop the drug. That would lead to higher chances of spread and local recurrence.
