default
Posted on Mon, 2 Nov 2015
Question: Yes, good morning. I have one thigh slightly larger than the other. There is a dull aching pain which started last night. I just got off an airplane last Friday which was approx 2 1/2 hours. Could this be DVT?

Brief Answer:
DVT not likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The slightly larger one thigh with a dull aching pain can be due to muscular swelling or fluid retention due to local causes or dependent edema. It is less likely to be related to the air travel or DVT. You can self monitor it and in case the swelling increases or there is a considerable pain or bluish discoloration then consider consulting your physician for an examination.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
