Question: Today when I woke up and went into the kitchen in became very dizzy. This has never happened before. After about 10 min. it passed.
Later I took my blood pressure and it was 154/84. It usually runs around 140/72. The doctor took me off one of my meds about 2 months ago. Amlodipine is the med he took me off. I had side effects. My meds are: Celebrex, Bisoprolol/HCTZ10mg/6.25mg, Levothroxine .05, Valsartan.

Brief Answer:
I would recommend as follows:

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to high blood pressure. TIA (transient ischemic attacks can not be excluded either).

Coming to this point, I would first recommend performing increasing the dose of valsartan and Hydrochlorothiazide (you can take it separately from bisoprolol with the dose 25mg daily).

I would also recommend performing a Doppler ultrasound of the carotid arteries to investigate for possible narrowing and a cervical spine X-ray study study for chronic degeneration of the cervical vertebral column, which may trigger dizziness.

It is also important checking thyroid hormone levels in order to make the proper adjustments to Synthroid dose if necessary. You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Dr. Iliri
