Is Red Stringy Vaginal Discharge During Pregnancy A Symptom Of Miscarriage?

default
Posted on Mon, 20 Jun 2016
Question: I am 4 weeks pregnant (LMP 4th April '16) and today I noticed a red stringy discharge (only one string less than a centimeter long) with my otherwise clear/whitish vaginal discharge. I have had a previous miscarriage at 8 weeks (1 and a half years ago) and I had spotting before it, but this is a little different. Is this the indication of another miscarriage? This is my 2nd pregnancy after the unsuccessful one.

Brief Answer:
It could be due to other causes also.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting me about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
The mild spotting in early pregnancy could be due to hormonal changes or other causes also.
So please do not take much stress and get your ultrasound done to rule out the cause as you had a previous history of abortion.
Take rest and start progesterone to support pregnancy.
And do not take stress.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Good luck.
Regards
