Is Pregnancy Possible Without Sexual Intercourse?

Posted on Tue, 30 Sep 2014
Question: Hi, this maybe a very stupid question..but my khakhi pants/underwear were wet with precum and there was a wet spot on the pant. My girlfriend was wearing underwear and sat on me while we were kissing. We never directly touched our gentials to each other, it was all through the clothing (3 layers) From what I recall, she was also wet.. She had her periods 2 weeks ago, and our incident happened a week after her period. It has now been a week since then and she has been getting white sticky discharge from the past 3 days. She's never had this before -- could this be a worry that she's pregnant? I understand that the vagina could be self-cleaning itself, but she has NO other symptoms. Its not itchy.

We were careful to never touch each other directly (we are very sure about this -- always over clothing). We also never touched ourselves after we touched each other.

Brief Answer:
She will not be pregnant from this encounter.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for using Healthcare Magic. Do not worry. Sperm do not survive in the conditions you describe outside the body. Your girlfriend will not be pregnant. The white discharge is likely to be normal discharge. Sins that it may be an infection would be a foul smell or itching. In which case she should see her doctor.
I hope this is of help. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your response, Doctor. So what would likely be the reason for the white discharge? What worried me was that this was apparently a common symptom for pregnancy -- leukorrhea? It is not foul smelling or itchy. Just fairly sticky and white, first time having this.

Is this discharge common to have about 2 weeks before her period as well? So glad to know that Sperm cannot survive in outside environments. So even if there was accidental touching of her wet underwear and my wet pants, pregnancy is out of the question? So relieved to hear this. We have only touched ourselves over our underwear, Doctor -- never directly whatsoever.

Thank you for all the help!

Doctor, Thank you for your immediate replies. Your help has been extremely useful and has calmed me down. My girlfriend stopped getting those white discharges (it started to reduce and then completely stop), her periods are expected sometime after the 22nd. So glad to hear that she cannot get pregnant from this activity. Even though we had touched each other, I had touched/fingered her over her underwear, and she through mine. She never touched herself there until she washed her hands..
