default
Posted on Wed, 5 Aug 2015
Question: Hii. I had unprotected sex on 24th of XXXXXXX two or three days after my periods. I took an ipill immediately after that. After that i got my periods twice in the month of july. I went to my gynac who prescribed me with himalaya evecare 30mg, crina-n 10mg and nurokind OD to b taken for a month. I started taking these medicines last week. Yesterday I had protected sex and therefore didnt take an ipill.
Today while urinating i noticed blood in my urine. Is it possible that m pregnant? Also i have this constant urge to pee since past two hours. ( i masturbated 2 hrs back annd immediately had the medicine prescribed by my gynac).
Do i possibly have an STD or an infection? Please help

Brief Answer:
No chance of pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome to health care magic,

I have read your whole query and understand the concern.

If you had a unprotected intercourse 2 or 3 days after menses then there will be almost nil chances of getting pregnancy as you were in non-fertile period of your menstrual cycle at that time.

So first do not worry about pregnancy.

Secondly, you did protected sex on yesterday (19th July),so here you were also on non-fertile period and did protected sex.

Here, also there is no chance of pregnancy.

Blood in urine after urination and if it has come for just once only then there is no need to worry.
Also frequent urination is not the indication of suspecting STDs.

From all above discussion, I do not think there is any chances of STD or getting pregnancy in your case.

However, you can undergo routine blood count and urinalysis to be in more safer side.

If those tests comes normal there you do not have to worry.

Hope this will help.

Brief Answer:
It needs further evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for immediate follow-up.

If you have blood clots and pain during urination then it will require further evaluation by various tests to find out the actual cause.

You should go for complete hemogran with kidney function tests, urine examination, ultrasound of KUB and pelvis and cystourethroscopy (if all above investigations comes normal).

You should consult urologist if this urinary blood clots with pain remains constant.

Meanwhile, take over the counter analgesics (diclofenac) with antispasmodic (dicyclomine),urinary alkaliser (liquid citralka) and drink plenty of water.

Hope this will help you.

i feel much better now after having one litre of water last time. the pain is reduced and i didnt see any blood clots in the last two times i went. also now that sensation in my bladder is gone. how long should i wait to see if the symptoms come back again before i can actually go for all the tests u mentioned? since the pain has reduced and the clots are not visible are there still chances of having some infection or problem with my kidney. also like i mentioned in my first question, i am already under medication. will it be ok to take the medicine u mentioned with the ones i am already taking?

Thanks in advance Mr. XXXXXXX for your suggestions. This is my last follow up. You helped alot! :))

warm regards,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
See your doctor and test once to rule out any infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for follow-up.

If you had a blood clots and pain during urination and it has subsided now, still I would advice you to undergo further evaluation by some routine tests to rule out any infective pathology.

However, this kind of blood clots could be subsided by itself ad without any medications but You should go for complete hemogram, urine examination, ultrasound of KUB and pelvis to rule out kidney pathology although chances are less. So,do not need to worry here.

You should consult physician or urologist if this urinary blood clots with pain reappears.

Meanwhile, take over the counter analgesics (diclofenac) on as and when required basis with urinary alkaliser (liquid citralka) and drink plenty of water.

Hope this will help you.
