Is Pregnancy Possible Through Pre-ejaculatory Fluid?

default
Posted on Mon, 10 Aug 2015
Question: How much sperm is in pre ejaculatory fluid if any? how likely is it to get pregnant from it? sperm out of semen is a little out of its element right? pull out method is risky. But it works just not as well as other birth control methods obviously because its all up to the human not the pill or piece of latex. I've read that most research has found no to low levels of sperm in pre fluid?

Brief Answer:
Pre ejaculatory fluid undoubtedly can causer pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Let me clarify.
All men are different, just as each body is different.
If you undertake a semen analysis of different men, it would be all different.
The count and motility will vary highly.
So, in different men, the amount of live and motile sperm contained in the pre ejaculatory fluid will also vary.
Research CLEARLY and indisputably states that pre ejaculate can carry live sperm, and pregnancy is a definite risk from it.
There are no percentages here, as to how any pregnancies are caused by pre ejaculatory fluid, as there are obviously no studies possible on this situation.
There are studies on the fact that pre ejaculatory fluid contains live motile sperm.

Sperm is not out of semen in pre ejaculatory fluid, precum is only mildly different from proper seminal fluid, if at all different.
The pull out method is risky , not just because of the human element involved, but also because pre ejaculatory fluid has been definitely proved to cause pregnancies.
HOpe this manages to clear the situation.
Please feel free to discuss further.

That helped a lot. 37% outa all those men had sperm in pre fluid so some men may and some may not as you stated. Which means you can't play around with it. As few as 1 million which wont cause pregnancy to 35 million which deff will cause one if the timing is right. But it seems like without a doubt there is obviously less sperm in it than ejaculation. Which means lower Risk but anything about 10 million is to scary to take a chance. I'll stay away from pull out method

Brief Answer:
Yes, you are right.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
Yes, it differs from person to person, but evidence clearly states that it is possible, so you cannot take a chance with it.
1 million too can cause a pregnancy, after all, it takes just 1 sperm to fertilize an egg !
And why take that chance at all ?
There is considerably less sperm in precum compared to ejaculatory fluid, but there IS, that is the point.
Pull out method is strongly not recommended, if you really wish to safeguard against a pregnancy.
And there are various safer and convenient methods, so why not choose from them?
Am glad if I could help you

Thank you again, just one last thing I thought sperm count below 5 million is considered sterile. Yes it only takes one but will 1 million that's very unlikely I read anything below 15 million per ml is not enough and may take more time to conceive?

Brief Answer:
As below

Detailed Answer:
Anything below 15 million is a low and suboptimal count, but nothing, even less than 1 million, is not considered sterile.
As long as you have sperm in the sample, you CAN cause a potential pregnancy.
Yes, it maybe more difficult compared to a ' normal ' fertile man, but the risk is always there.
Hope that clarifies things ?
