Is Pregnancy Possible Through Pre-ejaculator Fluid?

Question: Genital to genital contact, no penetration, did not ejaculate. Is pregnancy possible this way?

Over the weekend I fooled around with this girl. We didn't have "full intercourse". Instead we did oral and rubbed and grinded our genitals together naked. I did not insert my penis into her vagina and never ejaculated during this. I can't even remember having pre-cum residue on the tip of my penis, because I didn't have a very strong erection doing this. Plus I urinated just before we fooled around, and a few times before that was well. It was just for light pleasure and I wanted to get her off, because we didn't have a condom (yes we do think about contraception). She was wet but I never ejaculated or penetrated her vagina. I just rubbed and pounded the shaft of my penis on her clitoris and pelvic area. I was as careful as I could be, but is there any chance of pregnancy? I have been reading the chances are extremely small but "I" have to know personally.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
There is really no chance of pregnancy from that type of sexual contact

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and I'll be happy to answer your question today.

Contrary to popular belief, sperm really does not come out of the male genital tract except in the period of time just prior to orgasm. "Pre-come" can contain some sperm cells, but it needs to come to very close contact either in either right in the opening of the vagina or at the entrance because sperm actually die when they are exposed to air. This is the reason that withdrawal can be an ineffective method of contraception, however if there is no direct contact between the tip of the penis in the vaginal opening there really is no chance of pregnancy.

So in your case, based on the way you described your encounter, there really is no reason to be concerned.

However, you should be cognizant of the fact that skin to skin genital contact can transmit certain types of sexually transmitted infections, like herpes and genital warts. Even rubbing yourself against a girl, especially if your skin gets chafed, can be enough to transmit infections of these types. For that reason, to completely protect yourself against STDs, you really should not have an any genital to genital contact without a condom if you do not know the girl's STD status.

I hope that I was able to adequately answer your question today, and that the information I've given you was helpful. If you need anything further, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes,

Thank you! That cleared up a lot. I tend to stress at times.

It is possible the tip of my penis touched her clitoris hood, does that pose a risk? My tip never went into her vaginal opening and I never ejaculated, because I would have felt both. And like I said I doubt I had any pre-cum or very little at all because I didn't have a strong erection. I keep reading that you have to ejaculate fully inside her to get her pregnant. Plus I read it cannot happen with indirect contact either (fingers, towels, etc).

Brief Answer:
You are correct- indirect contact cannot cause pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

The clitoral hood does not have any connection to the vagina so you cannot get someone pregnant from semen coming into contact with that area (in your case it was unlikely there was any semen there anyway)

Also you are correct, because towels and fingers expose sperm to air they cannot survive to be transmitted to someone else. In addition, sperm can only swim in liquid, so a dry surface cannot transmit sperm.

You do not have to ejaculate fully inside someone to get them pregnant, but you do need to be inside them or just next to the vaginal opening close to the time of climax.

I hope that this additional information is helpful and I am availabe if you have any further questions.

Regards,

Dr. Brown
