Is Poor Concentration A Symptom Of Adult ADD?

default
Posted on Tue, 5 Jul 2016
Question: I am 46 years old & as child suffered ADD throughout adolescents & college.
Ive noticed the last few years I am having more & more trouble focusing @ work,
Im back to reading 3 or 4 chapters of a book & not retaining any of of what I started reading
& starting projects & not finishing them.

My adolescent daughters were just diagnosed with ADD & so I decided to take some of their medicine for a couple weeks & Oh my goodness! I got more done in the last two weeks than I have in what seems like forever. My performance @ work increased & I just had a laser focus. It dawned on me ADD never went away, I just stopped being treated for it after I graduated college.

Can you diagnose me & prescribe me medication for adult ADD?

Brief Answer:
Possible relapse of ADHD.Require drug therapy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I can certainly understand your concern.

Yes, there seem to be a relapse of ADHD in your case.

You might require therapy again to control symptoms again.

I generally prescribe oral pills of METHYLPHENIDATE 20 mg once a day before breakfast.

This drug will drastically improve your symptoms.

Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these pills to you.

Likewise ,I recommend 6 week cognitive and behavioral therapy sessions to gain control on your attention and concentration.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you

Brief Answer:
Prescription to be done only after physical examination of patient.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I can understand your concerns.

METHYLPHENIDATE is a prescription drug, that has to be issued only after an expert physician who has specialised in treating ADHD examines you in person and confirms or refutes the provisional diagnosis of ADHD relapse.

Hence, it's very safe to take the prescription from a doctor who belongs to your local state of living.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you.
