Question: whether it is ok for my 16 y o daughter to take 2 tbl of Moxiclav Duo Forte 875/125 for recurring ear infection in the wake of sitting for exam tomorrow in attempt to pre-empt debilitating pain. She is now starting to develop the pain which she recognises as ear infection ache.

Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Hi, XXXXX,

Thanks for asking me, hope I shall be able to guide you better.
As your daughter 16 yrs is having ear infection again and she was once already treated for the same in the past.

As she is also having pain associated with ear infection she once requires local check up by a ENT doctor.

AS your daughter is also having past history of migraine it will be a better idea to have a local check up done by a doctor followed by medication.

The medicine you have mentioned above Tab-Moxiclav Duo Forte 875/125, it has got Amoxicyclline(875 mg) with clavulonic acid(125 mg), they are usually given one tablet twice a day to control infection, but pain will not subside with it alone, it has to be combined with some anti-inflammatory medicine.

So better get it confirmed by any local doctor and start the medication.

Hope you are able to understand the gravity of situation and disease condition.

Looking forward to listen from you once again, if any other part of the disease is to be clarified, please do not hesitate to write back again.

Wishing your daughter a speedy recovery and good health,

Regards,

Thanks.
