Is Mild Cognitive Impairment Possible At The Age Of 22?

default
Posted on Tue, 8 Sep 2015
Question: Is it possible to have mci at 22? I scored highly on the ravlt (95th percentile), corsi block test (75th percentile), reverse digit span (97th percentile) and the memtrax but did poorly on the moca (below 26) and the rey figure copy test (bottom 5 %). My memory in daily life (events, conversations) is not impaired at all but my memory for new vocabulary and new/foreign names is impaired for example I struggle to learn new words and try and repeat them over and over with failure to learn.

Brief Answer:
Unlikely.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

You can't be having MCI at 22.Having good scores on Ravit,Corsi block,Reverse digit span and Mem trax almost say that your cognitive functions are intact.Borderline low on Montreal does not make you dementic.
Rey figure test is one thing, which a large number of normal individuals are not able to do.
Use better learning techniques,I hope you will do fine.

If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.
