Question: I am a 46 yo male, 5'10 180 lbs. In very good shape. I weight train 2 times per week and run 5k 2 times per week for the past 20 years. I feel great. I've had MVP with regurgitation that has moved from slight to moderate 2 years ago. Heart size and function are still normal today. I do not have symptoms. My weight training is free weights using my body weight. I do not strain during the movments. Should I be comcerned about lifting weights?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.

You shouldn't worry about lifting weights as long as left ventricle size and function is normal. You may lift weights and it's recommended to continue with athletics (running).

Physical activity it's necessary to maintain your boudy and heart healthy. The only recommendation is to follow up your heart with echo once a year.

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!
