Is It Safe To Use Beclomethasone And Clotrimazole Combination For Fungal Infection?

default
Posted on Thu, 11 Dec 2014
Question: Hello Dr XXXXXXX This is follow-up on my daughter fungal infection on which i consulted you while i was in USA during Sep-Oct 2014. I came back in first week of October to XXXXXXX and recently noticed same infection again (although time time severity is less). While i was in USA i couldn't get steroid and anti-fungal combination (since they need prescription out there). This time since i am in XXXXXXX i tried to get Betamethasone and Clotrimazole combination but pharmacy out here doesn't have this combination, they have Beclomethasone and Clotrimazole combination (Candid-B). Please let me know if I can use candid-b instead or please let me know brand name which has Betamethasone and Clotrimazole combination?

Please let me know if i am correct in using previous prescribed medicine for same infection? Let me know if you would need more details before providing your valuable consultation.

Thanks
XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
You can use Candid B

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Dear Bro XXXXXXX

Welcome to Incredible XXXXXXX
You can definitely go ahead and use combination of Beclomethasone (Steroid ) and Clotrimazole (antifungal) which is available as Candid B in XXXXXXX if she has recurrence of same lesion as previously mentioned.
It will definitely help in fungal infection.

Do write to me directly anytime you need any help.

Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life.

Deepak

Brief Answer:
I would recommend Candid B

Detailed Answer:
Dear Bro

Both the tubes contain Neomycin sulphate (antibacterial )as an additional ingredient. I would personally recommend Candid B , as it is antifungal anti inflammatory without antibacterial preparation (the lesion your daughter has is fungal ).

Take care

Best regards
Deepak
