Brief Answer:
Minoxidil should be safe under these circumstances...

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You are concerned that taking minoxidil will cause interference with your pacemaker/defibrillator. Minoxidil is a medication that has been used for control of hypertension. It can cause some elevations in renal function and occasionally elevated potassium levels when taken for hypertension.

If you are using the minoxidil for promotion of hair growth then the amount of medication absorbed is very little and will not affect renal or potassium levels.

As long as you are using the minoxidil as prescribed there will be no interaction with your pacemaker/defibrillator.

In summary
1. Minoxidil is safe with pacemaker
2. Monitor renal function and potassium levels if taken for hypertension

I hope this answers your question. Please contact HCM again with your health care questions or concerns
