Is It Safe To Start Exercising For A Diabetic With High BP And Cholesterol?

Question: I'm a 170 lb female with T2 diabetes. I don't have high bp or cholest. My A1c is 6.5. Do you think it's safe for me to start exercising? I'd like to run a 5k.
