Brief Answer:
Avoid dental procedures during pregnancy..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms you are in the third trimester of pregnancy you should presently avoid any dental treatment..

As far as getting root canal treatment or filling to be done, firstly I would like to explain you that if your tooth is indicated for Root canal treatment then such a tooth cannot undergo filling as if filling is done the exposed nerves will get further irritated and inflamed leading to severe pain and swelling..
Other thing is that root canal treatment is not indicative in pregnancy until it is an emergency..

So I would suggest you to postpone the treatment till your delivery..

For inflamed gum flap over wisdom tooth known as PERICORONITIS you can keep the area between the gum and tooth clean, do warm saline gargles and can take Paracetamol for pain and amoxicillin for infection BUT only after consulting your Gynaecologist..
Avoid astringent use..

Take soft food to reduce pain and discomfort while chewing..

If you have any further questions you are welcome..

Wish you a sooner relief..

Thanks and regards.

Brief Answer:
Consult an Endodontist.

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome Again..

As per your explanation if you have cavity in which there is pain when food gets struck and while chewing then there is a possibility that it is not deep enough that has involved the nerves and in that case filling can be done..

I would suggest yo to consult an Endodontist and get evaluated and after a thorough clinical evaluation if the cavity is shallow enough that filling can be done then you can get the teeth filled so that the pain and discomfort while eating resolves.

In case if filling cannot be done and root canal treatment is the only option then you can get it done only after consulting your Gynaecologist and if she find it not harmful to get the treatment done you can proceed with it, but get it done only by an Endodontist who are specialist in root canal treatment and treatments related to filling of teeth..

Any further questions are welcome..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
